Why Weights?
Weights exercises are the most effective and time-efficient way to strengthen your body to remain healthy and functional. Lifting weights is also known as resistance training. Resistance helps to get rid of your body fat. And it also increases your lean muscle mass and strengthens your bones and joints. Resistance training improves your posture. I know this from my journey into weights exercises as I was hunched over after years of working on computers. In the gym I focus on compound movements which include the major problems muscle groups such as squats, deadlifts, and bench press. These exercises use the maximum amount of muscle fibres in one move and lead to accelerated muscle growth. I often do them with exercise bands using the same correct technique used in lifting actual weights. Strength training at home can be all about bodyweight exercises. Go for compound exercises and include push-ups, pulls, lunges, and planks. Using an exercise band will help with adding resistance and is easy to use in your home. A final note: Take care not to work the same muscles on consecutive days and absolutely crucial is that you leave enough time to recover in between workouts, preventing potential injuries.
